Jandowae Community Plan - Have Your Say!
Jandowae Community Plan - Have Your Say!

Wambo Wind Farm is proud to partner with local community leaders to support the development of a community plan for Jandowae.
What is a Community Plan?
A community plan is a shared vision for the future – created by local people, for local people. It outlines priorities, goals and actions that will shape key parts of community life, such as the needs of local community groups, and broader issues like housing, transport, the environment, health, education, and economic development.
It captures the values, needs and aspirations of the people who live and work in the area and ensures decisions are guided by those who are directly affected – not made in isolation.
It helps the community to move forward together, supporting coordinated, long-term progress rather than short-term or disconnected decisions. Clear goals and strategies make it easier for governments, businesses, industry, and community groups to collaborate and use resources wisely.
A good plan gives residents a meaningful voice in shaping their future, building trust, connection, and a shared sense of ownership.
Ultimately, the Community Plan drives positive change, protects what locals value most and ensures the community grows in a way that benefits everyone.

Jandowae Community Planning Workshop
We're now supporting the local Jandowae community and leaders, to develop the Jandowae Community Plan, which will capture their vision and priorities - what matters most for Jandowae in the future, and what we want this place to look like in 20 to 30 years' time.
A planning workshop, led by an experienced facilitator, will be held to gather input for this plan, where community members will be asked to share what matters most to them, discuss their priorities for the future, and highlight the projects or investments they believe will create a lasting, positive legacy for the Jandowae region.
The workshop will provide a welcoming space for local voices, local knowledge and local priorities to be shared. Everyone is encouraged to take part and contribute to the conversation that will help shape a shared vision for Jandowae's future and document in a structured way the local priorities that can influence decisions on services, infrastructure and lifestyles.
The workshop is open to anyone who would like to be part of this initiative. All ideas, big or small, are welcome!

Time: 9am to 12pm (arrive from 8:30am)
Venue: Jandowae Memorial Hall

About Carolyn:
Born and raised in Jandowae, Carolyn has a lifelong connection to the town and the wider Western Downs and South Burnett regions. She completed her schooling at Jandowae State School before beginning her career locally with the Department of Primary Industries, and later holding roles across South East Queensland supporting rural industries, including drought and flood recovery.
Growing up on a mixed grain and cattle property outside Jandowae shaped her deep understanding of rural life and community resilience. Today, with her husband Ken, she owns and operates a 3,000‑hectare cattle property in the South Burnett and the award‑winning Passchendaele Farm Stay.
A committed community volunteer, Carolyn has held long‑standing leadership roles with local halls, AgForce branches and community organisations, and continues to support regional committees and community benefitting fund advisory groups. She remains passionate about strengthening communities like Jandowae and supporting their long‑term future and sustainability
How will feedback be used?
The information gathered from the in-person workshops – along with feedback from online and paper surveys – will form the initial version of the Jandowae Community Plan. Every piece of feedback will be captured, considered, and grouped into clear themes to document what the Jandowae community values, and identify projects that can support them to build their preferred future.
This initiative is proudly supported by Wambo Wind Farm.
