Jandowae Golf Club utilising renewable energy for a ‘greener’ future

The Jandowae Golf Club in partnership with Wambo Wind Farm’s Community Benefit Fund, has taken a big step toward to a greener future for the club - and it’s not just about the course.
The fairways and greens will be greener, but so will the energy that’s used to make the golf club a paradise for players.
Rooftop solar panels were installed on the club house thanks to the funding they received through the Wambo Wind Farm Community Benefit Fund, with the energy generated used to power the water pumps that make the course a delight for its players.
President of the Jandowae Golf Club Brendan Taylor said it was a fantastic project for the club, enabling the use of renewable energy whilst saving the club money on fuel and generators.
“Green energy creating greener greens, it’s got a great ring to it!” he laughed.
“We’ve always wanted to move towards a more long-term solution for watering the greens and fairways, and with the addition of our shiny new solar panels, it’s going to be a breeze.
“There won’t be a need for diesel or generators for a long time now!
“It’s a big step toward the future for us and we appreciate the support and partnership of Wambo Wind Farm.”
Applications for the first round of grants from the Community Benefit Fund for 2025 have recently closed. Stay tuned to hear about the next round of projects.
