Neil Farmillo - President, Jandowae Show Society
When the past and the present come together, fantastic things can happen, just ask Neil Farmillo.
As President of the Jandowae Show Society, Neil has been a steward for the region, ensuring the show and in particular the Pavilion which plays a huge part in it, is looked after and maintains its importance.
It's been 70 years since the once aircraft hanger was put on a train in Oakey and sent up to Jandowae, and it's seen a lot in that time. So when restorations and improvements were needed, Neil took a chance to meet with representatives of Wambo Wind Farm and to see what could be done.
"I said ok, I hear you guys want to help in the community so would you consider concrete in a pavilion" he said.
"That’s a big project and they said, well, we can look at it.”
The concrete was poured two weeks before the show by a group of volunteers and as they say, the rest is history.
It's provided a space for the show and now special functions too, with enquiries coming in for everything from 70th Birthday's to parties.
It's another example of how Wambo Wind Farm is working with our community.
